منذ أيار 2021، يقاوم الشعب الفلسطيني في جميع أنحاء فلسطين التاريخية مخططات الإقلاع والظُلم الممارس عليه. اثارت هذه اللحظة تساؤلات عديدة حول التقاطع ما بين آليات السيطرة والعنف السياسية والاقتصادية

لم تتمحور المحادثة حول توّرط رأس المال الخاص في العنف الاسرائيلي فحسب، بل شملت ايضًا حديث حول الطرق التي مرّ بها الشعب الفلسطيني عمليات افقار تنموي، وحول التبعية الاقتصادية كآلية لاحكام السيطرة السياسية على شعب مُستعمَر. طفت هذه القضايا على السطح بالاخص خلال الإضراب الفلسطيني العام الذي حدث في تاريخ 18 أيار 2021، وخلال “اسبوع الاقتصاد الوطني الفلسطيني”

قررنا في مركز “من يربح” ان ننظم أول لقاء عام في حيفا وباللغة العربية في هذه الفترة تحديدًا، كونها شملت أحاديث عديدة حول طبيعة الواقع الفلسطيني السياسي والاقتصادي. قام د. ابراهيم الشقاقي خلال اللقاء بتحليل مشروع إسرائيل الاستعماري-الاستيطاني بعدسة الاقتصاد السياسي، وركّز على أهمية تبنّي هذا الإطار

Since May 2021, Palestinian communities across historic Palestine have been engaged in an intensified and multilayered resistance against dispossession and injustice. The current moment has bought into conversation the intersection between political and economic mechanisms of violence and control.

This conversation is not limited to the complicity of private capital in Israeli violence, but also encompasses the manner in which Palestinian communities across the Green Line were systematically de-developed and dependency as a mechanism of political control. These issues were brought to the fore during the historic cross-Palestine general strike on 18 May 2021, and the activist led “Palestine Economic Week”.

It is in this context of ongoing dynamic conversations around the political and economic nature of Palestinian collective dispossession that Who Profits decided to hold its first Arabic-language public meeting in Haifa. During this event, Dr. Ibrahim Shikaki put forward a political economic analysis to Israel’s settler-colonial project and highlighted the importance of adopting this analytical framework.
